Hey there, nethra.
Have you tried the USB flash drive with another computer to see if the same thing happens? When you say that "it's showing a shortcut", do you mean that the folder in it is a shortcut or that the pen drive is not accessible via Windows Explorer at all? Do you need any data to recovered from it?
If not, you could try reformating it, to see if that fixes the issue. You could also take a look at the instructions of this thread here: https://ccm.net/forum/affich-667322-pendrive-shows-only-shortcuts
