Keyboard misbehaving

Hello,

I am facing a couple of problems with my keyboard; these go away at times to come back again :(

1. ctrl-A from keyboard does not working within a file or folder;
rather at times, pressing ctrl-A, results in inserting a character '`' to my document.
but select all from edit toolbar is working fine...

2. phantom characters appear when i type...these are consitent like:
for d it's ds, for c it's cx, for 3 it's 23
After troubleshooting I found that killing ctfmon.exe will resolve this issue...and it did...
But it keeps coming back. I want it to get resolved for good
