when starting my sony vaio sve1511k1ew the screen shows no signs of life, no vaio logo, no mouse/cursor- nothing, any ideas, the fan is on and the power led is on. all help is appreciated,

desperately awaiting your help

Looks like you have a serious problem that only "hand on" access to the laptop can diagnose. I suggest you have a local repair shop do a diagnostic evaluation.
