Simpletech 500gb external hard drive problem

Hello,
Hard drive issue, I have a Simpletech 500gb external hard drive and it was working fine. For some reason now Windows7 does not recognize my hard drive. I really know nothing about drivers but my son said I may need to update or add? Can anyone tell me how to do this??

The drive has probably just failed. I suggest you test it on another PC. If it works on other PC's then we can try to uninstall and reinstall the drive.
