Hp Windows 8 keyboard super messed up!?

Hello,

I've had this laptop for almost 2 years now. I went on vacation ( 3 weeks )and came back to find that most of the keys on the laptop are messed up.
e.g
9- 1490
0- 1490
F9- +6/-
Backspace- deletes, then writes an 8
Left alt- smiley face
Right alt- nothing

and much more. There is no way anyone could have done anything to my laptop. There was nothing wrong when I had left, and it amazes me that it messed up so much from doing nothing. Some keys work fine, but most have multiple functions. I waited one night to see what would happen and one of the keys fixed by itself. Please help me, this is extremely stressful.

You probably have a defective keyboard. I suggest you test with an external USB keyboard. If the test goes OK then you will need to look into having the internal keyboard replaced.
