Hello,
I've just bought a new Toshiba laptop.I've never had a laptop before so everything is new to me.I've got wired dsl internet for my home computer, and I was wondering if i could connect my laptop to my internet connection without having to buy a wireless router. Was hoping that the wireless card inside the laptop would recognise my wired internet connection,as I'm sure I remember the person at bestbuy telling me that I didn't need a wireless router.Any help would be greatly aprreciated.

Most laptops will have a ethernet socket on the back, if so a cheap ethernet wire (Approx £1 per metre in UK) will connect to any standard router, without any of the issues wi-fi users suffer (bandwidth slowdown, poor signal, easy to hack, etc)
