No interent connection

I have had my Acer Aspire 7735Z-4033 for a while. I have had problems connecting to the internet for a few months. Now I can not connect to the internet at all. My wireless network is working fine and my ipad and iphones connect to the internet fine. Any suggestions on how to fix the Acer's problem

Two possibilities:

1) Update Ethernet driver.
2) check your LAN cable.
