Toshiba laptop won't turn back on unless power cord is plugged

I have a Toshiba laptop and when I unplug the power cord with the battery fully charged it powers down and won't turn back on unless the power cord is plugged in. whats wrong with it? Any ideas?

It means that the battery has gone. Its time for new one.
