Laptop will not turn on or get a charge

My father recently came across a newer laptop when cleaning my aunts house out. she said one day it wouldnt turn on so she never touched it. He recently replaced the fuse and has tried charging it to no avail. He has tested the voltage on the laptop charger and its getting a charge. Is there anything we can do to save this computer its fairly new but has no warranty.

Try this

1. Remove the battery and cable.

2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.

3. Replug and start.

He tried that twice still nothing he says its like the mother board is not getting power

Try to remove the battery and charge the laptop with direct AC power adapter and see whether it works, if no power passing at all even though the Adapter(charger) is good, may be the power supply unit on the main board is faulty
