All icons are pdfClosed

Question

Not sure when this happened.  My task at icons went to PDFs. I removed Adobe reader and the icons returned to normal.  I went to regedit and deleted the .lnk ext.   I then re downloaded Adobe reader and the same issue returned.  I have Windows 7.  Does anyone have a fix or suggestion on this.  I'm nor reall savvy so please don't get too technical.  I really need some help.  Oh after installing Adobe again I couldn't access regedit !!!!!  Mike

Don't remember where I got Adobe but it happened after I was prompted to update several weeks ago :(.

Hi

I just have a minute.

Delete the reader you have now.

Delete all of your temporary files and cookies.

Download and install this version:

https://ccm.net/downloads/professional/4897-adobe-acrobat-reader-dc/

Adobe Reader rarely prompts for updates unless your version was very old.  We may be looking into a virus.

Please do not try to access regedit until we look in this problem further.

As a matter of fact, just to make sure, I would like to make an analysis.
to do so, I require a report. 

1. Open this link and download ZHPDiag2 :

(Don't be alarmed is the site is in French, it sometimes happens, the tool will take your system language and allow the download if you get a warning message, ignore it.)  Click on the download button

2. Save the file on your Desktop. 

3. Double click on ZHPDiag.exe and follow the installation instructions. 

(For Vista, Win 7 and 8 users, click right to ensure you execute with admin right) 

4. Double click on the short cut ZHPDiag on your Destktop. 

5. Click on Full. 

Wait for the tool to finished (maybe a long time) 

6. Close ZHPDiag. 

7. To transmit the report, click on this link : 

https://authentification.site 

8. Search the directory where you installed ZHPDiag (usually C:\desktop\zhpdiag.txt).
9. Copy the url link obtained from Speedyshare and paste it here in your reply.
