Want to revert to old Windows

Hello,
I upgraded my Windows Vista Home Basic to Home Premium. My laptop came with Home Basic. I don't like Home Premium and want to go back to Basic. Is there any way I can do that?

should be a simple case of using the restore dvd software that came with the pc

What if i don't have that DVD somebody sold the computer to me, and they installed another operating system on the computer. I have that problem, and all i want to do is get the windows basic system back. I have the Product key on the computer right now too, so I should be able to just get the program somewhere, right?
