ITunes problem please answer quick!!

Alright. i had about 700 songs on my iTunes library... After that something weird happens all the music dissappeared.. it's still on my computer but i want to know how itunes can automatically put all my songs back into itunes. iTunes has done it before.. i went to File - Library and nothing happened.. can someone please help me? i want to do this now

Well.. How do i scan my hard-drive for music using itunes?
