Clicking sound is not good sign for a good hard drive.
Did you drop it? Or it is hot?
The life of the hard disk depends upon usage and capacity it used and temp.
You can see some explanations in below mentioned websites:
Hard Drive Clicking Sounds
How long do hard drives actually live for?

Hi Ridwanrf,
Clicking noises from the hard drive may indicate mechanical issue, which may lead to drive failure. I strongly recommend you to backup all your important data and download the drive manufacturer’s diagnostic tool. Do complete drive scan. Maybe the noise is coming from the drive’s arm, but you can never be 100% sure. If the diagnostics show a good drive condition, I suggest you to keep doing backups and drive checks.
I have a drive that has been clicking for years, but appears in good condition. Do you think your hard drive shows drops in terms of performance?
Hope this helps

Guys, let me know what "normal" clicking sound is.
What does this mean?
"Hitachi and IBM hard drives are well known for making natural clicking sounds (unfortunately Hitachi hard drives were also prone to the click of death)."
