I have a USB2 memory stick which is Write Protected, I have lost the password and can not open it. I followed the instructions on the Newsletter of 15th Jan which involved going into the registry and navigating to 'Storage Device Policies'.
I am using Windows 10 and this key does not seem to exist, or at least I could not find it.
Could someone else try to find it please, or does it exist under another name in Windows 10. Or does anyone know another way to remove Write Protection from a memory stick without password.
Many thanks,
pothole.

Hi pothole,
If you have protected the drive and you do not know the password, the only possible solution may be to format the drive. Sadly, you will lose all data, but you may be able to use the USB stick normally. If you search online you may find some tools and tutorials on how to bypass the password, but none of them guarantee you success. Is the information in the USB important?
Hope this helps
