hi there sorry but my hard drive keeps telling me that it should be formated to be used again and i dont want to jeopardize my file cuz they r v important

Hi Josi,
Is this an internal or an external drive? Since you have important data in the drive, I would recommend you to change the cables and ports and even test the drive on another PC. Sometimes OS different from Windows may show better results recognizing a hard drive. That is why I recommend you to boot from a Linux Live CD and try to access the drive. No installation is required. You only need to switch boot sequence, selecting the CD/DVD ROM in first place. Let me know if there is any progress.
