Volume control button is not working on windows 10

Hello,

Hi, my volume control simple does not respond when clicking on it.

no message comes up. simply dead. this is a brand new computer
so I can't take it back to a date when it work by going to System Restore.

Simply brand new from the box.

what do I do?

Is the volume turned up? What model of laptop?

yes the volume is up (and too loud)

OK, so I guess you are trying to turn it down? What have you tried (what fails)?

Okay someone suggested I restart the computer and now all is working. so I didn't have to do anything at the end.

I appreciate the help!!
