Search the web and Windows is not responding

Hello,

On my brand new computer I enter a topic in the Search the Web and Windows field on the bottom near the Windows symbol.

Options come up but nothing happens when i click on them. Dead.

What do i do?

OK, well if you wish to browse, open a browser as before. What options did you click?
