External Hard drive not showing up on my computer..

Hello,




My external hard drive is not showing up at my computer for my win 7 laptop
When i go for Disk Management its shows that Disk 1 unknown and not initalize..what should i do? Thank you

Hello Bebb,

When you click with the right button of your mouse on the hard drive, does it give you the option to initialize the drive and make it online? If it doesn't, try connecting it to another computer with different operating system. Also, you can try different USB ports and a different cable. When connected, can you hear any clicking noise coming out from the drive?

hello..i had been tried such method but still not helping..what i can do now?but thank you for you recommendation..

Check if the BIOS can recognize the hard disk
