Sound from headphones is distorted speakers are fine?

Hello,

Whenever I plug my headphones I get only background noise and some distorted voices. My speakers are working perfectly fine.

I've checked with multiple headphones that work for my other devices and they all have the same problem.

I've done a system restore to the last time the headphones have worked.

And I've updated everything under sound in my device manager, in control panel my headphones are said to be functioning.

What is the next step?
