Internet explorer wont start after updatesClosed

Question

Hello,
I have windows vista and after my automatic updates from microsoft, internet explorer wont start up.  I usually go to system restore and that will get it working again, but the next day the same thing happens again.
I am computer challanged so if someone knows how to fix this in simple step by step intstructions, I would be grateful.

Its comforting to see some others in the same boat as me. i have no clue how to fix this. but i also system restore it back one days. i have been doing this now for a few weeks. and im getting tired of this "band-aid" solution.

any help?

After updating to IE8 My monitor wouldnt recieve a signal. After much searching via another pc and messing about, all it took was a simple ram reseat and some how that worked. Prior to this update everything was working fine.
