When I power on my Dell, I get the Dell logo for a few moments then it goes away and then the 5 little dots rotate in a circle. But that is as far as it gets. It will not power off after that. I must unplug it and remove the battery. I have tried different combinations of taking the batt. out, unplugging, then holding the power button for 45 seconds and then re-powering.

Hi Spamcook,

Trying to disconnect and hold the power button sometimes is a good solution when you PC does not start when you press the power button. Since your PC actually starts but cannot boot normally there may be hardware or a BIOS issue. Do you have access to the BIOS menu? If you cannot open it and no button configuration is working on startup, I would recommend you to contact the laptop manufacturer’s support and ask for some product specific guidance. It is possible that there is a button combination that resets the PC to its defaults settings.

Hope this helps
