LG monitor stuck in power saving mode

Hello,
I have an LG W2253V monitor that I have hooked up to my Acer laptop through an HDMI cord and today it entered randomly into "HDMI power saving mode" and will not show anything on the second screen anymore. I tried a new HDMI cord and that did not work so is it the laptop not sending a signal or is the LG monitor itself shot? How to I fix this if possible?

It appears that the laptop is not sending a signal to the monitor. But, you should verify this observation using another computer.
