Hello Ma,
Please, share what the problem with the drive is. Are you able to access your drive at all or is it giving you an error? Do you have any data stored on the drive which needs to be recovered?
I'm asking you this because, if there's a need for recovery, you must use a specific software for data recovery and if it doesn't help, you could bring the external HDD to a data recovery company to do it in a professional manner.
If you don't need the data, you could make a full erase of the drive and initialize in order to be used once again. You can do that through the DISKPART menu in the Command prompt or Disk management menu in the Computer management options in the Control panel.
