Jack headphone thingh

Hello, I've been using a 5.1 system for quite a long time. Recently i've connected in my jack a pair of earpods and now my 5.1 doesnt work anymore. If i introduce the 5.1 jack it says headphones are connected and if i test them in the audio manager thingy it looks like it makes some kind of sound, but none comes out of the system. Although, if i connect the earpods and do the same thing, they do work.

If you are using a cell phone ear pod, I think the wiring is different, as the earpods typically might have a voice path wired into the jack, that does not exist with the laptop headphone jack! I am taking a guess, but this might be the reason!
