Some keys work some don't resort to the on screen keyboard

Hello,

my fingers hurt from where i have to hit certain letters so hard to get them to work, then some you have to use the onscreen keyboard cause they still won't work. Then sometimes when you drag the pointer across the letters it will bring up extra letters,then you have to fix that. very slow process. annoying, how do you fix it?
