Was watching a movie other night and my laptop turned off, tried to reboot and it started with the asus logo, then it turned off. Did this a couple times then it stopped working all together, so i tried a static discharge, the battery light turned on orange but still wouldnt start when hit power button. Tried reseating ram, taking hard-drive out and putting back in
Today i did static discharge again and now charging light is still orange but the power indictator now lights up white. What would be going on? im at a loss and not trying to spend $150 on a diagnostic charge and what could be a simple issue.
Basically. Battery light orange (no blinking) hit power button and power light turns on white (no blinking. No fans turn on, no screen, no sound. nothing

Hi

"no blinking. No fans turn on, no screen, no sound. nothing", this is not simple issue. Watching a movie had nothing to do with it.

In my opinion it's a mummy board issue, perhaps power supply.

Sorry but I believe that a trip to the repair shop should be scheduled.

If your lappy is kind of new, two years or less and it never got a blow of any kind, I recommend that you contact Asus, who knows, you may have purchased a lemon.

Good luck

Yes Chris, it just could be a short ! But how to tell without the tools ?

You see you need power to be sent from the battery or adapter to get the hard disk, processor and fan running. I trust that you lappy's innards are clean.

Sorry pal
