Ie8 won't connect

Hello,
i have gone through most or all the comments on ie not connecting. o have an acer laptop with vista home premium on it that will not connect. i can see the rest of the network and ping sites outside, so i figure the system is working. ie8 was reset in the adcanced tab i even tried to install firefox no connection. i wen into the firewall and added ie8 and port 80 just will not connect.PLEASE HELP thanks

Dear Sir,

Please consider resetting the connection and hence reconfiguring

the connection setting for the problem to get solved.
