Hello all,
I have a Sony vaio VGN-FS35GP. I have upgraded my XP to Windows 7 ultimate by doing a clean install. It has been a great ride so far apart from the Fn keys for volume are not working. Even when I mute, it shows the mute sign but it does not physically work. I cannot increase or decrease the volume using the Fn F3 or Fn F4 keys either. They do not seem to collate with the volume control on my system which I can only control from the bottom right cornor.

Comments and help with this will be much appreciated.

Cheers
Nerum

Try this -

My Computer (Right Click) --> Manage --> Services and Applications --> Services

Under this you should spot "VAIO Event Service". Check if this is Stopped & Manual. If so, start it and mark it automatic.

Hopefully it should work;

I had the exact same problem with the function 3 &4 keys not controlling the volume. They stopped working a couple of days ago after I tried to download something. I have a VGN-SR390. This completely worked. Thanks so much!
