Internet Connection problems

Hi
My laptop has been disconnecting from the internet the past few days, and i do right click on the internet options and diognose and rapair the problem but it either says ,reset your adapter, and etc, doesnt matter which option i do it doesnt work. but when i bring it downstairs where my netgear wireless adapter is it works then but soon as i take it back to my room it looses connection to the internet but is still connected to the wireless network
