Verizon Cable box sound is popping

I recently purchased a samsung smart tv 55" HD 8 series. I have tried all volume setting (standard, optimize, amplify) and have tried low to high volume on all settings and still experience a crackling popping sound that happens every minute or so.
I have a Verizon box which is hooked up to my smart TV and only happens when I am watching TV (doesn't happen when streaming) I have my Verizon box sound / volume setting, set to dynamic range 'heavy'. I read this may be an issue with the wiring (connections) but not sure. Please help!
