Keyboard typing wrong characters

Hi

I cannot type several letters - keyboard ON laptop is one of the keyboards with a separate number pad. have tried turning ON and then off the number lock. going to setting to make sure I'm ON either Canada or USA keyboard. even tried a few suggestions in older forums about hitting start + R - all that did was bring up a keyboard I could use my mouse and single type letter by letter. that option in not conducive to me needs.

right now some of the strangeness is - hit letter b - nothing same with letter v

hit letter I - automatically types i8
hit letter e- automatically types e3
hit the upper 5 - types t5
over ON the number pad
type either the 8 or the 5 - automatically types both the 8 and the five

enter doesn't work at all

please help - I need my PC for my accounting and currently just using my MAC to attempt assistance

PC with issues is a Toshiba running ON windows 10 office 2007 and E1 vision AMD processor
