No signal to monitor

Hello,
My recently built computer has run into a problem. When I turn it on, everything starts running, but there is no display to the monitor. I have tried everything people have said, yet nothing has worked.

Is there an external video card, or on board video? Does themonitor have an on screen menu button? Press it while booted, does it display anything (like brightness, vetical, horizontal)?

If it doens't display anything, check it is plugged into AC power!
