Toshiba p745 s4217

Hello, I decided to see if I could resurrect my old Toshiba Satellite, which stopped working years ago. I tried booting it up and after the initial Toshiba screen, I got a prompt, which looked like it was from the boot menu to enter a password. I'm sure that I wouldn't have placed a password at this level, but I decided to try to enter one anyway. Some of the keys, including the enter key wouldn't work, so I couldn't have entered a password even if I had one. Any ideas for a course of action?
