Hello,
My Western Digital 60 GB Hard Drive stopped working. It is no longer being recognized by the computer. I don't think the model is made anymore. The problem is I have a lot files on there that I really need. At first the green light would come on and stay on and we would have to unplug it to make it go off. Now the light is not coming on, however you can still here the fan going and a humming noise. We suspect it might have been the motherboard as it looks horrible. We also tried to take it out and slave it to one of our Dell Computers but there is no space for another drive and the other Dell is not coming on. What should we do to recover these files? Swap motherboards or try to slave it to another computer to obtain files? Is there hope for it even though the power light is not coming on anymore?

hi,

try it in another computer computer to see if it recognises the HDD.

if it does not, then maybe the drive is gone forever.
