Hello
your external drive might not be formatted to any file structure.
plug in this device. right click my computer and go to manage. then go to disk management and you should hopefully see your external drive ***NOTE THIS IS NOT YOUR C: DRIVE***
it might/should say unallocated
right click it and click "create new partition" - run through the wizard
it might possibly say "format"
just do this to make the drive "healthy"
assign it a drive letter and this should show.

I've tried that but there are only the two drives that were there before, C&D..even my other 240GB external doesn't show up but then it is only switched on only when i want to transfer files, am i doing something wrong then? :*(
