Hello,
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and a LG 42inch model number 42LC7D. When trying to connect to play media files and such nothing happens, the TV sees it is connected to something via the HDMI slot but nothing displays on the TV it just says 'no signal' my laptop sees the TV when it is connected and it is present in the display settings but that is all. Dell told me this would work, I went as far as giving the presales person my model number for the TV before I ordered the laptop and now Dell's excuse is "the HMDI is optional and because you TV is such a High End TV your video card isn't powerful enough to display on my TV RRRGGGHHH Now they want me to reinstall my operating system.

hi,

try to connect it using another port.

such as the DVI port or the S-Video.

check the connectivities of the television as well to see if it has the same ports as in the laptop.

hope this works for you.
