Sony vaio VGN-FS3G no sound

Hello,
i have a sony vaio VGN-FS3G laptop, i reformatted it from xp home to xp professional and now i have no sound.
on start up it does the internal vaio noise, but that is it.
i'm pretty sure all the drivers were deleted. i have gotten drivers for everything else, but the sound drivers for this model don't work.
when i go to sound device it says no device detected and volume control says there is no active mixer device available.
the audio drivers i got and didn't work is AUD-0602FS91-ENG.

if any one has a clue, can you please help.
