Hello,
I have hidden an important folder.I tried un hiding it by going to 'TOOLS' menu and by selecting the 'Show hidden files and folders' option, but even after doing this, my folder is not showing up.Again when i return back to the 'TOOLS' folder,by default, the other option of "Hiding Files and Folders" is checked. Thus, I am not able to get back my folder.I suppose its a virus that's creating the problem.Do i have to go to System Registry to get it done? Please tell me how should i go about doing it.

I am using Windows XP with Avg 8.5.

Thanking you.

hi there,

The above symptoms occur if the system is infected by Malware,

which modifies the CheckedValue registry value in these branches:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced \ Folder \ Hidden \ NOHIDDEN

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced \ Folder \ Hidden \ SHOWALL

check it

Thanks
