Type following command in command prompt (cmd.exe), ensure it show valid IP, subnet mask, gateway and DNS info.
ipconfig /all
If Internet/network connection is ok, you can test to use nslookup to try resolving domain name/URL. If this fails, maybe there is problem on configured DNS servers, so you can test to use following free DNS provided by OpenDNS. Hope this helps.
