Mouse isnt working

Hello,
ive just bought one new ps2 mouse as the other wasnt working and with the new one its still not working. what is the problem with it and any idea of what should i do please?

Sounds like a PS2 port issue - easy workaround is to get a USB mouse. Could be a sign that the motherboard is going.
