Hello,

I am having an issue where I installed this registry defrag program (Free Registry Defrag from download.com)and used it, and i now get a blue screen every time I try starting windows.

I have tried using my windows 7 install disc to repair, but it says that it is not able to repair. I also tried using system restore, but apparently I absent-mindedly turned of system protection.

What options do I have now? Will I have to do a fresh install of windows 7?

Thanks in advance!

First off, never use a free download. They are filled with spyware and malware. I would try to uninstall the program to see if that works. Put your computer into safe mode and remove the program. If that doesn't work, it may be due to the driver that is associated with the program you downloaded is outdated. You need to update the driver to get it back up and running. Here are a few links to help you.
