Western digital external Harddisk not working

Hello,
i have problem with my external hard disk. when i connect it to my laptop i get the USB detected but unable to find the drive in MY COMPUTER. i tried it on different comps(even on linux comps) and it still got the same problem.

kindly help me out with this problem and how to recover my data....??.

btw i can see remove hardware option also..where i can see my hard disk..but as a drive i cant find it

My desktop and any other computers which I tried to plug in my WD external serial WD3200BMV 320 GB and I keep getting this answer " a usb device has been malfunction and the computer does not recognized this device"
