My ipod does not work

Hello,
my ipod wont charge or turn on if its not on hold. and when i take it off hold when its on the charger, the ipod screen fades off slowly and wont turn back on unless i pull the charger peice out, put it back on hold, then put the charger peice back in. what should i do?

Dear Sir,

Firstly check whether the charger is not messing

up. If it is working properly, the problem might be

with the battery. Please have it replaced.
