Maybe the modem is not compatible with your PS3 !
you have to use a laptop and install it.
-install
-next go to network and sharing center
-right click Cricket Broadband connection and go to properties
-go to the tab called sharing
-check: allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection
-below that is an option that says Home network connection
-next click on that and select Local Area Connection
-Put apply or Okay
-connect Ethernet cable from laptop to ps3
-connect to the Cricket connection on laptop(if you do this while connected to the Internet, disconnect, and it will work)
-turn on ps3 and go to network settings
-go to Internet connection settings
-custom>wired>then auto everything
-just test it, and it should work
