Will NOT recognise Modem now after restoring

Hello, PLEASE HELP?????
any idea why after reloading or restoring a computer system it now fails to recognize the "modem"? computer had a trojan.....now it won't go on line..(sad here).

How can I fix this ?? Directions please on how to fix , Thanks in advance, Sue
