Sony Walkman Content Transfer Problem

Hello,
When I connect my Walkman, Content Transfer does not recognize it. I have already tried reinstalling it after uninstalling it. Please help!

I have a Windows XP
My Sony Walkman model is NWZ-E438F

Also, when I put the CD installation disk in for the content transfer and I click install and I attempt to install "Windows Media Format 11 runtime" a window pops up saying "The installation of Windows Media Format 11 runtime appears to have failed. Do you want to continue the installation?"
Not sure if that has anything to do with it...
