USB headset not getting sound Closed

Question

I just got a new headset, speaker and mic, and plugged it in to my USB port.   Sound is still coming from my computer speaker and  not the headset.  Under my sounds and audio devices on my control panel my headset is the default.  When I plugged it in, it said that my new hardware was installed and ready.  But yet, sound is not coming out of the earpiece only the computer speakers.  Why won't this work?  Thanks in advance for any help!

Thank you for the help.  I tried the registry edit by Allie and had the problem of the file not being binary and the wrong key.  Either way, I rebooted and used firefox and it is not working!  So thanks to all for responding!

I hear normal sounds on the headset now, but am not hearing the training video that is streaming from online.  How do I change that setting?
