Not able to load antivirus

Hello,
i have downloaded and installed an antivirus on my pc. but once i reboot it , it fails to load.the icon appears on the right bottom of my screen and once i pass the mouse pointer over it, it simply disappears. have tried installing zone alarm and kaspersky with no avail. norton fails to even autorun from the cd. i have xp sp2 as my os.



any advice or help will be greatly apreciated.
