Hello,
I have an WD external hard drive for my Apple pro notebook. I need to back up my itunes to that. Why won't my laptop find it? Sorry, but I haven't anyone here to help me. Normally, my laptop seems to find thing automatically. Do I need to download a driver or something??? I thought I had used this hard drive on this laptop belfore. I must have used my old PC. HELP...... I'm sure it's an easy proceedure, but for me, everything is complicated if it's not an automatic thing. lol HELP

If the external drive is formatted with NTFS (windows default format) then the Mac can't see it. To share a hard drive between a Mac and a Windows PC the drive must be formatted in FAT 32 or extra drivers need to be added to one or both of the computers. Search this forum for "FAT32 format" to find a link to a program that can format large drives (over 32 GB) to FAT 32.

Good Luck
