Nano (3rd gen) doesn't show up under devices

Hello,
I just got a new computer with Windows 7. Itunes songs are there, but the Ipod Nano does not show up under "Devices" in Itunes, and songs I downloaded did not transfer to it. What must I do?

Dear Sir,

Please consider connecting it to another USB port in order to confirm whether the problem is not coming from the USB port itself.
